Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies arrest two for Methamphetamine possession

COLP, Ill., (KBSI) — A traffic stop in Colp, Illinois, led to the arrest of two individuals on methamphetamine possession charges.

On Jan. 24, 2025, at 8:31 p.m., Williamson County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver, Travis L. Conroy, for driving with a suspended license and expired vehicle registration. A search of Conroy’s person revealed a clear plastic bag containing methamphetamine.

The passenger, Rusty L. Wagley Jr., was also searched and found to have an open alcoholic beverage. A probable cause search of the vehicle uncovered additional evidence, including a brown glass smoking device with white crystalline residue and a clear plastic vial containing methamphetamine.

Both Conroy and Wagley were transported to the Williamson County Jail. During a search of the patrol vehicle after exiting the jail, deputies discovered a bag containing a schedule 2 controlled substance and methamphetamine.

Conroy was cited for multiple offenses, including methamphetamine possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, and operating an uninsured vehicle. Wagley was cited for methamphetamine possession, possession of a controlled substance, and illegal transportation of alcohol.
