Williamson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death that occurred on Christmas Day
WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (KBSI) – Williamson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death that occurred on Christmas Day.
Around 9:30 pm on Christmas Day, Deputies responded to a 911 call that reported a deceased female with a gunshot wound.
On the 400 block of South Logan Street in Creal Springs, deputies discovered the woman with what appears to be a self inflicted gunshot wound.
Out of an abundance of caution, the residence was secured and the death is being investigated by the sheriff’s office detectives. Illinois State Police crime scene investigators are assisting with the investigation.
“While the injuries sustained initially appear to be self inflicted it is incumbent upon us to reach that conclusion through a comprehensive forensic investigation”, Sheriff Jeff Diederich said.
