Williamsville teen dies after SUV overturns into pond in Wayne County

WAYNE COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — A 17-year-old Williamsville girl died Monday evening, Oct. 5, after the SUV she was driving ran off a road and overturned into a pond, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at 8:20 p.m. on County Road 424, about 3 miles south of Williamsville.
The patrol said the girl was driving a 2006 GMC Envoy west when it left the roadway and overturned into the pond. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 10 p.m.
The girl was not wearing a seat belt, according to the report. Her name was not released, and her next of kin had been notified.
The crash marked Troop E’s 46th traffic fatality of 2026.
