Woman arrested for possessing, concealing stolen truck

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ill., (KBSI) – Michelle L. McKinney, 48, of Nason, was arrested yesterday afternoon on felony charges of possession of a stolen vehicle and obstructing justice.

The arrest followed a Sheriff’s Office investigation that began April 2 after a tip suggested a stolen vehicle was being hidden at 352 N. 3rd Street.

A search warrant served at the residence led authorities to a black 2009 GMC pickup truck reported stolen from Wayne County.

Investigators found the vehicle had been relocated in an attempt to conceal it further.

McKinney was taken into custody, transported to the Jefferson County Jail, and later released with a mandatory court date under the SAFE-T Act’s new bail system.

She is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
