Woman arrested in Paducah after found in stolen vehicle from Illinois

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – A woman faces a receivng stolen property charge after a sheriff’s deputy saw a vehicle driven suspiciously.

Sophia Scott, 40, of Paducah faces a charge of receiving stolen property over $1,000.

A McCracken County Sheriff’s deputy saw a vehicle being driven in a suspicious manner about 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday, February 13.

The vehicle was in the Elmdale Road area of Paducah.

The deputy learned the vehicle had been reported stolen in Illinois earlier that same day.

Before the deputy could try to stop the vehicle, the driver parked and went into a home on Elmdale Road.

More deputies arrived to assist. They found Scott inside the home.

The deputy identified Scott as the driver of the vehicle.

Scott was arrested taken to the McCracken County Jail.
