Woman, child injured after vehicle strikes bridge support in Graves County

GRAVES COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — A woman and a 10-year-old boy were injured Tuesday when their vehicle struck a railroad bridge support beam in Graves County.

The crash happened around 3 p.m. at the intersection of Kentucky 339 North and Kentucky 408 West, between Lowes and Fancy Farm.

The Graves County Sheriff’s Office said Gwendolen Baker, 45, of Murray, was driving west on Kentucky 408 when the vehicle veered to the right while traveling downhill and left the roadway. The 2014 Honda Odyssey then struck the support beam.

Baker and her son, Kayden Lawrence, were taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Mayfield-Graves County EMS and the Mayfield-Graves County Fire and Rescue Squad assisted at the scene.
