Woman faces charges after arrest outside dorm at Southeast Missouri State University

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – An arrest was made outside of Merrick Hall, a dormitory, at Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) on November 30.

Brittany N. Murphy, 31, of Cape Girardeau faces charges of unlawful use of a weapon which is a Class E Felony and two misdemeanors of assault in the fourth degree and peace disturbance.

After an investigation by SEMO’s Department of Public Safety, Murphy was identified as a suspect.

An arrest warrant for Murphy was issued by the Cape Girardeau County Prosecuting Attorney.

An investigation revealed that it was an intimate relationship incident and the parties knew each other.

A $50,000 cash only bond was set.
