PADUCAH, Ky. (KBSI) – A woman faces several charges after police say she caused a vehicle crash and left the scene.

Hunter P. Wahl, 36, faces two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid, two counts of first-degree criminal mischief, careless driving and third-degree criminal mischief.

A woman was charged after police say she caused a collision, left the scene, then crashed her Yukon into a house several blocks away.

Police were called at 12:15 p.m. Saturday, January 20 to a crash with injuries at 28th and Jefferson streets.

While officers were enroute, they were told that one of the vehicles, a white SUV, was leaving the scene.

When officers arrived, they found a 2006 Saturn with damage to the front of the vehicle.

The driver said he was going southbound on 28th Street and his light turned green, so he proceeded into the intersection.

He said a white SUV ran the red light on Jefferson Street and the vehicles crashed.

The SUV then hit a street sign before stopping briefly on Jefferson Street.

A resident saw what had happened, and took several pictures of the SUV before it left the scene.

Both the driver and his passenger were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Less than five minutes later, officers were dispatched to 2016 Guthrie Avenue where a white SUV went off the road at a high rate of speed, hit a utility pole, hit a curb and went airborne and crashed into the corner of a duplex.

Two people were inside, one of them in the room the SUV crashed into. Neither reported injuries, according to police.

When officers arrived, they found Hunter Wahl lying across the front seats of the SUV. Police say she was obviously intoxicated.

She was taken to Baptist Health Paducah, where she told officers she had been drinking at a friend’s home and made a mistake by
driving home.

She was issued citations and released to the care of the hospital.
