Woman facing charges after found to be ‘manifestly under the influence’

MURRAY, Ky. (KBSI) – A Benton, Ky. woman faces drug charges after sheriff’s deputies found her to be “manifestly under the influence to a point that she was a danger to herself.”

Cynthia Peck, 36, of Benton faces charges of public intoxication (excluding alcohol), possession of controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense (drug unspecified).

Peck was at the corner of 12th Street and Main Street in Murray on July 10 around 12:30 a.m.

She was arrested and found to possess methamphetamine along with a schedule IV narcotic that she did not have a prescription for, according to the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office.

She was arrested and taken to the Calloway County Detention Center.
