Woman, 2 juveniles face charges after high speed chase in Saline County

HARRISBURG, Ill. (KBSI) – A woman faces charges after police say she led police on a high speed chase early Friday morning.

Faleasha D. Frayser faces charges of possession of a stolen/converted vehicle, aggravated fleeing to elude police, endangering the life/health of a child, reckless conduct and theft.

The Saline County Central Dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired in the 100 block of South Shaw Street in Harrisburg around 2 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 25.

As patrol units were responding, officers encountered a red pickup truck leaving the area traveling at a high rate of speed.

Officers tried to conduct an investigative stop on the vehicle and it refused to stop, leading officers on a chase.

Officers chased the vehicle into the county where the truck turned down a dead end road. They boxed the vehicle in and conducted a felony traffic stop on the vehicle.

One woman and two juvenile males were taken into custody.

While some officers chased the suspect vehicle, other officers responded to area of the 100 block of South Shaw Street and identified a home as the target of the shooting.

The home had damage from the gunfire, but no one was injured.

Frayser was identified as the driver of the red pickup truck.

During a search of the vehicle, officers found two 9mm handguns, according to Harrisburg police.

Officers determined that the red pickup truck Frayser was driving was stolen overnight from a home in Harrisburg.

The two male juveniles were detained at the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center on various charges related to the shooting.

The investigation is ongoing.

The Saline County Sheriff’s Department and Illinois State Police assisted the Harrisburg Police Department.
