Woman killed, driver injured in Graves County crash

GRAVES COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — A 22-year-old woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning.

The crash occurred around 5:55 a.m. on Ky Hwy 408 West, where a 2020 Chrysler Pacific minivan ran off the road, struck a tree and caught fire.

Raye A. Jones, of Graves County, was found deceased inside the vehicle. The driver, 30-year-old Sherrod Shelton, also of Graves County, was severely injured and transported to a hospital.

Preliminary investigation suggests a domestic disturbance occurred in the vehicle before the crash.

The incident remains under investigation by the Graves County Sheriff’s and Coroner’s Offices.
