Women gets arrested after threatening to bring a bomb into a Cape Girardeau business

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – A Cape Girardeau woman was arrested after threatening to bring a bomb into a business.
According to the Cape Girardeau Police Department on November 21, 2024, at about 9:30 a.m. officers with the Cape Girardeau Police Department responded to a business located in the 0-100 – Block of Doctors Park for a report of threats made.
During the investigation, officers spoke with the victim that stated she works as a collection agent for the business.
The employee told officers she made contact with Debra Hamilton age 55 of Cape Girardeau in reference to an outstanding debt. During that conversation, Hamilton became irate and threated the victim and stated she was going to bring a bomb to the business.
A short time later Hamilton called the business again and left a message threatening the victim a second time.
The business immediately went on lockdown until officers arrived.
Hamilton was arrested and faces a charge of class A misdemeanor of harassment in the second degree.
Hamilton was issued a $10,000 surety bond.
