1 killed in crash in Jackson

JACKSON, Mo. (KBSI) – A Cape Girardeau woman died in a crash in Jackson Tuesday afternoon.

Jackson police responded to a crash on US 61 eastbound near the intersection of Walton Drive at 4:52 p.m.

One vehicle was eastbound on US 61 in a lane after Walton Drive when another tried to turn south into a private drive.

The the second vehicle entered an eastbound lane and was struck by the first vehicle.

The driver of the second vehicle was Carolyn Childs, 60, of Cape Girardeau. She was pronounced dead at a medical facility, according to Jackson police.

The driver of the first vehicle and a passenger in Childs’ vehicle were taken to a medical facility with serious physical injuries.
