Yielding to funeral processions: JCSD gives reminder for motorists

VIENNA, Ill., (KBSI) – Motorists are reminded to yield to funeral processions when vehicles in the procession have their headlights on and hazard lights blinking.

According to state law, the lead vehicle in a funeral procession must obey traffic control devices, but the remainder of the procession may proceed without stopping.

Interfering with a funeral procession is illegal.

Motorists are asked to be patient and respectful when encountering a funeral procession.
