CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Wagging Wonders Dog Treats earned first place and a $1,000 prize during the Future Makers Market Youth Entrepreneurship Day held at the Cape Riverfront Market.

The business was created by young entrepreneurs who combined their love of baking with their volunteer work at SEMO Pets. Their goal was to create dog treats while also supporting shelter animals in need of treats, enrichment and care.

As part of the project, community members had the opportunity to purchase treats for their own pets or donate treats to dogs waiting for adoption at SEMO Pets.

Following the event, every dog at the shelter received a treat, according to the business owners.

The entrepreneurs thanked community members who visited their booth, purchased products and donated treats, saying the support helped demonstrate how a small idea can make a meaningful impact.

The Future Makers Market highlights youth entrepreneurship and provides young business owners with an opportunity to showcase their products and compete for prizes.
