Afternoon, Evening, Overnight Storms for Father’s Day
Scattered severe storms will be possible Sunday afternoon, evening and into the overnight. A Slight Risk (Level 2 out of 5) of severe weather is in place for the majority of the viewing area.

An isolated tornado or two, large hail and damaging winds will all be possible in the strongest storms. It will be important to make sure you have multiple ways to be alerted to severe weather as storms move through the area during the overnight hours.

Lows tonight will be close to average for the Heartland, ranging from the upper 60s to the lower 70s.
Mostly clear skies tonight in Cape Girardeau will lead to a calm start to Father’s Day on Sunday morning.
It will be a warm one during the afternoon, though close to average for our high temperatures. Storm chances pick up during the late afternoon hours, with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s.
Any outdoor plans for Father’s Day should be in the clear for Cape as long as they are in the morning. Storm chances increase for the afternoon.
Temperatures will be seasonally cooler for the majority of the upcoming week. Tuesday looks to be the best day to dodge rain or storm chances as an active weather pattern remains over the region.
