Cold Front Brings Cooler Weather, Weekend Chances of Frost
Our weather pattern takes a turn heading into Friday, which will bring more fall-like conditions back to the Heartland.
StormCast shows dry conditions for the remainder of the work week, with increasing cloud cover by Friday morning. Our chances for rain remain low through the next seven days.
Temperatures will drop to the 40s through the overnight hours, and winds will begin to shift out of the north and west.
Increasing cloud cover should save us from getting too chilly overnight, though expect temperatures to fall into the 40s by Friday morning in Cape Girardeau.
Afternoon temperatures will be noticeably cooler as northerly winds continue to usher in cooler air across the viewing area.
Cape will see a mix of clouds and sun throughout the day on Friday. In addition to the cooler temperatures, winds will gust from the north up to 25 miles per hour throughout the afternoon.
Saturday morning will give the area a widespread chance of seeing frost. Lows will fall to the lower and middle 30s, followed by afternoon temperatures back to the 50s.
Saturday morning will be the first of a few chances of frost as we head through the upcoming weekend. Isolated areas could come close to freezing, particularly Saturday night into Sunday morning. Sunshine returns to the forecast Saturday, and afternoon temperatures will remain close to, if not above, average as we look ahead to the middle of November.
