Rain continues tonight, tapers off Friday morning
Rain will continue at a steady rate through the early morning hours of Friday. Rain chances taper off early Friday morning as this system exits the region. With this rain, expect the wind to pick up for a time, too.
The heaviest rain will be seen around midnight tonight, enough to add some comforting background noise. Widespread rain will continue, adding up to a quarter of an inch up to an inch in some locations.
A snapshot of Stormcast below shows 7 a.m. Friday, about time for the morning commute, and the rain should be wrapping up by then. Some patchy fog and drizzle is possible as the moisture moseys out of the picture.
Overcast skies will dominate the first part of Friday, but the sun expected to pop out in the afternoon for a bit as temperatures are reaching for the lower 60s.
There is another late small chance on Saturday, but we will stay mild and mostly sunny through the majority of the weekend.
December will stay warm through the first full week (warmer than averages in the lower 50s), with little precipitation expected after our round late Thursday night.
