Storms Sunday, quiet Monday
Sunday will be stormy throughout the day. There is a Slight Risk for Severe Weather in place for much of the KBSI viewing area. The storm activity clears out overnight Sunday into Monday. Mostly sunny skies for both Monday and Tuesday. Temperatures cool into the lower 80s in the next three days.
A Slight Risk (level 2/5) is in place through Sunday for most of the KBSI viewing area. A Marginal Risk (level 1/5) is in place for parts of southern Illinois and SE Missouri. Damaging winds, large hail and an isolated tornado are possible. The Storm Alert Team is continuing to track this system as it arrives.
An hourly look at Sunday. Storms are possible throughout the day. We warm up into the lower 80s for our high of the day, with light wind speeds from the south at 5-10 mph.
Sunday will have a mixture of temperatures in the lower 80s and mid to upper 70s. Rain-cooled air for Sundays storms will drop temperatures even more as the system passes through the area.
Sunday’s storm activity will bring great precipitation and higher humidity levels throughout the day. Both Sunday and Monday are higher ranking as humidity levels increase. As humidity levels and temperatures drop, so does Tuesday’s mosquito activity.
Storms are likely Sunday, before we dry up and cool down on Monday. Tuesday starts a warming trend as another chance for storms arrives for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We dry up and warm up once again next Saturday.
