Sunny, Warm for Wednesday, Halloween Weekend Rain Chances
Warm fall weather continues for the Heartland, with afternoon temperatures trying to reach the upper 70s on Wednesday.
We will start the day off with lows in the upper 40s to lower 50s across the viewing area. Winds will remain light through the overnight hours.
Keep an eye out for a few patchy areas of fog early Wednesday morning. Light winds and gradually clearing skies will create favorable conditions to see reduced areas of visibility. Temperatures will fall to the upper 40s in Cape Girardeau.
Highs will continue to be well above average for late October on Wednesday, with a few spots seeing afternoon temperatures close to 80 degrees in the viewing area.
If you are a fan of the warmer weather, then Wednesday afternoon will be for you! We are expecting mostly sunny skies in Cape with temperatures reaching the upper 70s.
Highs in the lower 80s look to become more widespread by Thursday afternoon.
Widespread rain chances will pick up through the weekend and into early next week. Long-term models indicate most of the viewing area will see a healthy dose of moisture through the first couple of days in November.
Keep an eye on the radar starting Halloween night through at least Election Day. Our rain chances do finally bring temperatures a little closer to average, but highs look to remain in the 70s through the start of the month.
