Storms likely on Father’s Day
A few early morning showers are possible before 6:00am on Sunday. We will be mostly dry for parts of the morning with on-and-off light showers into the afternoon.
With the increase in cloud coverage starting in the afternoon, a greater chance to see strong to severe storms arrives and lasts into the evening hours on Father’s Day. Temperatures will stay close to average in the mid to upper 80s with few lower 90s. Storm chances continue into the start of next week.
Various models are showing possible showers overnight Saturday into Sunday. We dry up briefly for parts of our Sunday morning, before strong to severe storm chances arrive in the evening. Damaging wind speeds, large hail and strong to severe thunderstorms are the biggest threats. The Storm Alert Team is continuing to monitor these storms as they arrive.
There is a higher likelihood to see precipitation in the afternoon into Sunday evening. Consider moving any Father’s Day activities indoors during this time frame.
Warmer temperatures and lots of moisture expected for Father’s Day on Sunday, leaving mosquito activity on the medium ranking. Temperatures cool slightly with lower humidity levels both Monday and Tuesday, thus mosquito activity should be on the lower end.
Storms are likely to start up in the afternoon into the evening for Father’s Day. Storm chances continue into the beginning of your next work week, before we dry up for the official start to summer on Wednesday. Temperatures stay on the warmer side in the incoming days, with mid to upper 80s and lower 90s.
