Sunday Storm chances increase
After an active Saturday, Sunday has another chance for strong to severe storms. Monday will be mostly sunny followed by smaller rain chances on Tuesday. Temperatures stay warm in the lower 90s.
A Slight Risk (level 2/5) for Severe Weather is in place throughout Sunday for Parts of SE Missouri, western Kentucky and NW Tennessee. A Marginal Risk (level 1/5) for Severe Weather is in place for parts of SE Missouri and Southern Illinois.
Various models show a storm system arrive in the afternoon hours and linger into the evening. Damaging wind speeds, large hail are the biggest threats. We will not rule out any possible spin-ups. The Storm Alert Team will continue to monitor this system as it arrives.
The first half of Sunday is partly cloudy, then a storm system arrives in the afternoon and will continue into the evening. Wind speeds pick up from the west at 5-15mph.
Our Skeeter Meter is showing a medium ranking for Saturday and Sunday with warm temperatures and higher humidity levels due to precipitation. We dry up on Tuesday making our ranking on the lower end.
Another likelihood to see strong storms on Sunday. We dry up Monday with smaller chances for rain on the 4th of July on Tuesday. Better chances to see storms arrive Wednesday and Thursday before we dry up once again for the weekend.
