KSP troopers investigating crash in Livingston County involving cattle

(KBSI) – Kentucky State Police troopers are investigating a crash that happened Tuesday on the east side of the Kentucky Dam bridge in Livingston County.
Livingston County Dispatch called KSP about 2:45 p.m. on September 26 requesting troopers and commercial vehicle enforcement officers respond to an overturned truck on US 62 on the east side of the Kentucky Dam bridge.
Anthony Cooper, 25, of Flemingsburg, Ky. was driving a 1998 Peterbilt truck pulling a cattle trailer westbound on US 62.
For reasons still under investigation, it appears that the front right steering tire on the Peterbilt blew out and the vehicle left the right side of the road, struck the guardrail and overturned over the guardrail off the right side of the road.
The driver reported to wearing his seatbelt and was not injured.
The trailer was loaded with around 57 head of cattle.
US 62 was shut down for several hours to allow for clean up of the crash site and rounding up of loose cattle.
Trooper Derral Redwine continues to investigate the crash.
KSP was assisted on scene by Grand Lakes Fire Department, Livingston County EMS, Livingston County Emergency Management, Livingston County Sheriffs Department, Kentucky Highway Department, JPEC, Livingston County Stockyard and Stinnets Towing.
