Spectrum Record Lounge to host event for Tailor Institute

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Friday, November 17, Spectrum Record Lounge will host an event that benefits the Tailor Institute.

The Tailor Institute was founded in 2003 by the father of a person with autism.

Dr. David Crowe saw the deep gap in providing services for those with autism that would enhance their life through the individuals’ very own strengths, providing them a life of great living independence and a full experience of friends and opportunities based around their very special personalities and gifts, according to thetailorinstitue.org.

The missing is that no parent would have to watch their child with autism retreat into a life without a circle of love and trust and growth in themselves and the world around them.

Spectrum is partnering with second shift brewing to release a new Italian pilsner. The event is called “same beer, different day”.

A percentage of sales goes to the Tailor Institute which helps promote independent lifestyles for those with autism. Travis Tyson, the co-owner, was inspired to put on the event by his child who has autism. The event will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17 and feature karaoke.
