Man facing drug, others charges after traffic stop in Williamson County

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (KBSI) – A man faces drug and other charges after a traffic stop in Williamson County.
Trevor A. Mills faces charges of resisting/obstructing a peace officer, possession of controlled substance, possession of adult use cannabis in a motor vehicle, illegal transportation alcohol and expired registration.
Deputies with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office saw a vehicle weaving while traveling in the area of Illinois Route 13 and Cambria Road while displaying an expired registration at 10:31 p.m. on November 6.
Deputies stop the vehicle and saw multiple open and empty bottles of alcoholic beverages in the vehicle, according to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies asked Mills to exit the vehicle. While speaking with him he took his foot off the brake and the vehicle began rolling forward, according to the deputies.
After ordering Mills to get of the vehicle multiple times deputies tried to remove him. While doing so Mills pulled his door shut. After deputies reopened the door, Mills pulled away and resisted the deputies, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies assisted Mills out of the vehicle. Once outside, deputies says he continued to resist and obstruct their efforts.
Deputies found the controlled substances Oxycodone and amphetamine, cannabis, and 5.41 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, according to the sheriff’s office.
Mills was taken to the Williamson County Jail.
