Kentucky Troopers raising money to send youth to ‘Trooper Island Camp’

Kentucky (KBSI) – The Kentucky State Police are selling raffle tickets to Trooper Island Camp.
Trooper Island Camp was established in 1965 by the Kentucky State Police at Dale Hollow Lake, near the Cumberland and Clinton County line.
Trooper Island Camp’s annual vehicle raffle is its largest fundraiser of the year. Last year’s raffle sold a record number of tickets at 37,519. The grand prize includes an option to claim a 2024 Ford Mustang GT Premium Convertible or a $50,000 cash prize.
Purchasing a $10 ticket ensures your chance at winning, but more importantly, it helps Kentucky’s children attend a free summer camp.
Tickets are 10$ each and can be purchased on Trooper Island website .
“When you purchase a $10 raffle ticket, you’re not just entering a drawing; you’re investing in children whose families are financially challenged by providing means for these kids to experience a week-long summer camp free of charge,” said Trooper Biven.
You can purchase a raffle ticket for a chance to win, each waffle ticket is 10$ and tickets can be purchased at your local state trooper post, or online at Kentucky State Police.
A max of 50,000 tickets will be sold and the raffle drawing will be on August 25 at 3:00 p.m.
The 2024 Ford Mustang is worth $58,467.

This free summer camp is designed for children aged 10-12 from families facing financial challenges.
Around 700 campers participate each year activities, including athletics, kayaking, archery, fishing, swimming, and many other camping experiences.
Trooper island is a 35-acre camp in Burkesville Kentucky, that was created by Kentucky state police to help kids who needed an extra hand. Fundraisers like an annual fishing tournament, poker run, golf tournament and a big car give away are held every year to send over 700 kids to camp each summer.
“They’re really great kids they just really struggle and its an opportunity for them to just get away from those everyday struggles and for one week they get a chance at a better tomorrow.”
The camp aims to instill leadership, teamwork, and valuable life skills while creating lasting memories for the children.
