Man arrested after woman shot, dies in Howardville apartment

HOWARDVILLE, Mo. (KBSI) – A man faces murder and armed criminal action charges after a woman was found with a gunshot wound in her apartment in Howardville.
On January 1 around 5:43 p.m., New Madrid County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Howardsville for a call of a female with a gunshot wound who was not breathing.
Deputies found 45-year-old Shannon Mansfield lying inside her apartment unresponsive from an apparent gunshot wound. She was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies arrested Shaundale T. Maxwell, 45, for murder 2nd degree and armed criminal action.
Deputies found Maxwell and a weapon in a nearby apartment.
Maxwell is being held in the Mississippi County Jail with no bond.
