IL woman faces drug charges in McCracken County after traffic stop

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – A Peoria, Illinois woman faces drug charges after traffic stop Sunday afternoon in McCracken County.

A deputy with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 24 just before the Ohio River Bridge on Sunday, April 14 around 1:41 p.m.

The deputy identified Katherine Southworth, 47, of Peoria, Illinois as the driver.

A deputy searched the vehicle and found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside, according to a post on McCracken County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

Southworth faces charges of careless driving, operating on a suspended license, failure to produce insurance card, possession of a controlled substance 1st (methamphetamine), drug paraphernalia and operating a motor cehicle under the influence of a controlled substance.

She was arrested and taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
