Cape Girardeau man pleads guilty to murder, assault in shooting death of teen girl

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI) – A Cape Girardeau man pleaded guilty to murder and assault in connection to the shooting death of a 15-year-old girl in 2019.
Isaiah M. Lane, 33, pleaded guilty to murder in the second degree (felony murder) and assault in the first degree, according to Cape Girardeau Prosecuting Attorney Mark J. Welker.
The shooting happened August 24, 2019. A second victim was injured.
A sentencing hearing has yet to be scheduled by the court.
Circuit Court Judge Scott A. Lipke will preside over the sentencing hearing.
