SEMO food bank receives recognition by Charity Navigator for ninth year in a row

JACKSON, Mo. (KBSI) –If you’ve been to the grocery store lately I’m sure you’ve noticed prices just aren’t what they used to be. Many families struggle to keep food on the table, especially during the summer when the kids are home all day.
Many families depend on assistance or food banks for help. The Southeast Missouri food bank is one of the biggest food pantries in the area. Providing food to those in need in 16 counties throughout Southeast Missouri. They have a big job but they do a great job. Such a great job that they have been recognized for the 9th year in a row by Charity Navigator. They were given four stars.
Donor Relations and Communications Manager for Southeast Missouri food bank Heather Collier tells us what this means.
“Charity Navigator is the largest organization in the country that reviews charities, and they look at transparency and financials so getting four stars from them is really a sign that we are doing great work with the money that we receive and its very transparent and our donors can feel secure supporting our mission in fighting hunger in Southeast Missouri.”
