Excessive heat, humidity, storms on Wednesday
Mother Nature is shaping up to have plans of her own for the upcoming holiday, beginning on Wednesday where we will see hot and humid conditions for most of the day, reaching the 90s by noon.
High temperatures across the area will reach the lower to mid 90s, and forecasted dewpoints are expected to be in the mid to upper 70s! The combination of heat and humidity will make any outside plans extremely uncomfortable.
A heat advisory is in effect across the region as we could see heat index values between 105 and 110 degrees on Wednesday.
This excessive heat will set the stage for a severe weather chance during the evening hours, putting the region under a slight risk for severe weather, with the main threats being damaging winds and excessive rainfall.
Storm chances continue into the Fourth with the latest model runs showing storms lingering into the afternoon and early evening hours. We’ll see another chance of showers on Friday before staying cooler in the mid 80s for the weekend. Another chance of rain creeps into the forecast for the start of next week.
