Cape Central High School choirs earn top honors at state music festival

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The Cape Central High School Bel Canto Choir and Concert Choir earned top honors at the State Music Festival held at the Southeast Missouri State University River Campus on March 13.

Both choirs received Exemplary, or Gold, ratings for their performances and sight-reading, the highest rating possible.

The achievement is a testament to the students’ hard work, attention to detail and teamwork.

The choirs’ behavior and respect during the trip also earned praise from their bus driver, a former Cape Central High School choir alum.

Students interested in joining the award-winning program can audition for the 2025-2026 school year.
