McCracken County Sheriff’s Office investigates severe animal cruelty case

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation into a severe case of animal cruelty and torture discovered on March 31, 2025.
A search warrant executed at a residence in the 9000 block of Woodville Road in West Paducah led to the discovery of 18 dogs living in deplorable conditions. One dog was euthanized on scene due to its poor condition.
The home was found to be infested with fleas and rodents, with crates stacked floor to ceiling and animals defecating and urinating onto others below. A total of 32 dogs are victims in this case.
All animals were removed from the home by McCracken County Animal Control and taken to the McCracken County Humane Society.
David Howery, 66, is being sought by law enforcement in connection with the case. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.
