Former student in custody after making threat against Oak Ridge R-VI School

OAK RIDGE., Mo., (KBSI) — A lockdown was lifted at Oak Ridge R-VI School Friday after a threat was investigated, and a former student was taken into custody.

The school received information that a former student had released lyrics on Spotify threatening to shoot students. Law enforcement was notified and responded to the scene.

Students were secured in lockdown while authorities investigated the threat. Parents were allowed to check out their students at the office windows, but no one was allowed inside the building.

The former student who made the threat was identified and taken into custody. Most students were picked up by parents, and the remaining students were dismissed at 1 p.m. after the campus was deemed secure.
