Firefighters battle early morning blaze in New Madrid

NEW MADRID, Mo., (KBSI) — Firefighters from Portageville, New Madrid and Lilbourn responded to a fully engulfed two-story brick residential home Thursday morning.

The call for mutual aid came in at 7:23 a.m. for a fire in the 700 block of North Kingshighway. Ladder 10 from Portageville Fire arrived on scene to find heavy smoke and flames.

Crews from New Madrid Fire Department, Lilbourn Volunteer Fire Department and Portageville Fire worked together to battle the blaze. Firefighters remained on scene until approximately 11 a.m.
