Forecast:

Low temperatures across our area will fall to the lower 70s for most, with a few spots sneaking below the 70-degree mark. Mostly clear tonight with a light breeze.

Mostly sunny for the morning commute, though we could see a few areas of patchy fog lingering around just past sunrise. Temperatures still start in the mid-70s and reach the lower 80s by the time rush hour ends.

Temperatures across the region will top out in the lower to middle 90s on Friday with a southerly breeze. Mostly sunny skies across our area to close out the work week.

One of our warmer days is ahead for Cape Girardeau on Friday. We expect to see mostly sunny skies and a high temperature in the mid-90s with a southerly wind.

The heat index will stay, for the most part, a few degrees above the air timperature, peaking in the upper 90s tomorrow afternoon.

The drive home for the weekend will have plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the lower 90s.

Dew points will continue to take a small dip going into the weekend before higher levels of humidity return on Sunday and into next week.

Hot conditions heading into the weekend before storm chances return to the forecast early next week, with the best chances arriving on Tuesday and Wednesday. High temperatures will be in the lower 90s, and overnight lows will drop into the lower 70s for the majority of the extended forecast.
