Juvenile suspect in custody after fatal shooting in Steele

CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) — Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting in Steele, Missouri, that left a young man dead and a juvenile suspect in custody.

The Pemiscot County Sheriff’s Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control and Steele Police Department are working together on the case.

According to investigators, the shooting occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 10 at a residence in Steele. A suspect was developed during the investigation and taken into custody.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday. Reports and evidence are still being processed, and authorities say a follow-up release will be issued soon.
