Hot and Humid Sunday, Heat Advisory Through Tuesday
Forecast:
A HEAT ADVISORY remains in place until 8 p.m. CDT Tuesday for dangerous heat across the heartland. High temperatures will reach the upper 90s and the heat index could climb up to 110 degrees.
- Limit unnecessary time outside if possible, and take frequent breaks from the heat if you have to be outdoors.
- Bring plenty of water over the coming days.
- Monitor yourself and those around you for signs of heat-related illness.
Above are symptoms of both heat exhaustion and heat stroke to monitor for over the upcoming days.
Temperatures remain warm this evening, with some of us potentially still in the 80s at midnight. Mostly clear skies are expected for the rest of the evening.
Low temperatures tonight fall to the lower and middle 70s with a light breeze and mostly clear skies.
Another hot day is ahead on Sunday, where temperatures are expected to be in the upper 90s for most of the heartland. Light winds are expected with isolated thunderstorm chances in the afternoon.
We will reach the upper 90s in Cape, with temperatures climbing into the 90s by noon.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected near dinner time on Sunday, according to the latest runs of Stormcast.
Many triple digits on the heat index map for tomorrow, with a few areas looking to come close to 110-degree heat indices.
The upper 90s continue into early next week before a cold front passes through on Wednesday. Storms will be possible as the front passes through, but seasonable temperatures will return towards the end of this week.
