CRITTENDEN COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — A traffic stop late Tuesday in Crittenden County led to the arrest of two people and the seizure of about a pound of methamphetamine and thousands of dollars in cash, authorities said.
Sheriff Evan Head said he stopped a rollback wrecker truck around 11 p.m. Sept. 2 after the driver failed to stop at the intersection of U.S. 60 West and Kentucky 1668 and the vehicle’s tail lamps were not illuminated.
The driver, identified as David B. Simms, was arrested on multiple charges, including operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance, trafficking in a controlled substance first degree (more than 2 grams of meth), disregarding a stop sign, failure to wear a seat belt, and several insurance- and registration-related violations.
A passenger, Tiffany Henderson, was also arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance first degree (more than 2 grams of meth), possession of meth, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Deputies seized roughly one pound of methamphetamine, $2,600 in cash and a bag of damaged U.S. currency during the stop, the sheriff’s office said.
Both suspects were taken into custody.
