Traffic stop on I-24 leads to drug, gun arrests in McCracken County

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — Two men were arrested early Sunday after deputies found more than a pound of marijuana and a handgun during a traffic stop on Interstate 24, according to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said the stop occurred around 3:23 a.m. Sept. 14, when Deputy Cope pulled over a 2025 Nissan Altima for a traffic violation. Deputy Griggs assisted with the stop.
A search of the vehicle uncovered about 1.3 pounds of marijuana and a loaded handgun hidden with the spare tire, authorities said.
The driver, Deandre Gilmore, 24, of Illinois, was charged with speeding 20 mph over the limit, no operator’s license, enhanced trafficking in marijuana (8 ounces to less than 5 pounds), possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. Deputies said Gilmore also had two active out-of-state warrants.
The passenger, Kendreeq Lindsey, 25, of Alabama, was charged with enhanced trafficking in marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both men were booked into the McCracken County Regional Jail.
