WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill., (KBSI) — A Herrin woman was arrested Friday night after a traffic stop led to the discovery of methamphetamine, according to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies conducted the stop around 9:16 p.m. on Oct. 17 near the intersection of 27th and Taylor streets in Herrin after observing a vehicle commit a traffic violation.

The driver, identified as Lori M. Haskell, was found to have an active Williamson County warrant for possession of methamphetamine. She was taken into custody without incident. A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed methamphetamine inside a purse, deputies said.

Haskell was cited for possession of methamphetamine (a violation of 720 ILCS 646/60, Class 3 felony) and transported to the Williamson County Jail.
