Three injured in head-on crash on Route AA in New Madrid County

NEW MADRID COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — Three people were injured Tuesday night in a head-on crash on Route AA north of County Road 807, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at 9:20 p.m. when a 2010 Honda Accord, driven southbound by a 17-year-old male from Sikeston, crossed the center line and struck a northbound 2017 Ford Escape driven by a 21-year-old woman from East Prairie. A 40-year-old male passenger from Puxico was also in the Ford Escape.
Troopers reported the juvenile driver of the Honda suffered serious injuries. The driver of the Ford Escape sustained moderate injuries, and her passenger suffered serious injuries. All three were transported by ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and were towed from the scene by JSH Wrecker of Sikeston. The patrol noted that safety device use for two of the individuals was unknown.
The crash was investigated by Trooper T.J. Wiebe of Troop E.
