Gas leak prompts evacuations in Jackson

JACKSON, Mo., (KBSI) — Jackson Fire Rescue evacuated several homes Tuesday afternoon after a gas leak was reported in the 800 block of Dorothy Drive.
Crews were dispatched shortly after noon on December 3 and worked with the utility company to assess and contain the leak. Officials said seven nearby residences were evacuated as a precaution and will remain evacuated until repairs are completed. The estimated repair time is about four hours, with work expected to continue until roughly 7 p.m.
Dorothy Drive is temporarily closed, and motorists are asked to avoid the area until the repairs are finished.
