CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Saint Francis Healthcare System’s Auxiliary recognized its volunteers during the annual Volunteer Christmas Breakfast held December 2 at the Drury Plaza Conference Center in Cape Girardeau.
Volunteers were joined by members of the Saint Francis executive team, the Friends of Saint Francis Board and the Saint Francis Foundation Board.
“We consider our volunteers frontline colleagues and part of the Saint Francis Foundation team,” said Stacy Huff, executive director of the Saint Francis Foundation. “We greatly appreciate everything they do to faithfully serve our patients and visitors, help raise funds, advocate and support our mission.”
Mary Lou Geary was honored as Auxilian of the Year, and Sherry Blattel-Dunseith was named Volunteer of the Year. Both awards recognize years of service and hours volunteered.
During the event, Auxilians presented a $50,000 donation to the Saint Francis Foundation’s year-end campaign to support technology upgrades for the Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The funds will be used for new baby-cam camera systems and BBraun pumps for infant feeding and safe medication delivery.
