SCOTT COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — The Scott County Sheriff’s Office announced the death of retired Deputy Lindell Eakins, remembering him for his decades of service and lasting impact on the community.
Eakins served the sheriff’s office in multiple roles over the years, including as a bailiff. Sheriff Derick Wheetley said Eakins was known for his positive attitude and ability to make everyone he encountered feel welcome and respected.
After retiring from the sheriff’s office, Eakins returned to public service as a school resource officer at Thomas W. Kelly School in Benton, where he continued to positively influence students before retiring a second time.
“Lindell will be missed by the many lives that he touched over his many years of service and friendship,” Wheetley said.
