PERRYVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) — The Perry County Solid Waste Board announced adjustments to service rates at the Perry County Transfer Station that will take effect Jan. 1, 2026, citing increased costs for waste hauling and disposal services.
Board officials said the changes followed the opening of bids for hauling and disposal contracts on Nov. 13, which showed significant cost increases in both areas.
Under the new rates, customers will pay $71 per ton for solid waste. Loads weighing 250 pounds or less will be charged a flat rate of $15. Non-Perry County residents will be charged $112 per ton with a $50 minimum fee.
The board said the rate adjustments were unanimously approved after a review of operating costs and future budget needs. As part of a competitive bidding process, the county entered into new three-year contracts with Rollet Bros. Trucking for waste hauling and Waste Management of Illinois for waste disposal.
The board said it remains committed to providing reliable, safe and environmentally responsible solid waste services, noting the rate changes reflect rising transportation and disposal costs while ensuring continued efficient operation of the transfer station.
