Here is the latest run of StormCast highlighting the timing of Sunday evening’s severe weather.
Strong winds will be present throughout the day on Sunday and into early Monday morning. A Wind Advisory is in place as we could see wind gusts outside of storms between 40 and 50 miles per hour.
Forecast:
Low tonight will be very mild in the middle 50s.
Cloud cover is expected to increase on Saturday evening in Cape Girardeau. Winds will pick up out of the south, gusting to 25 miles per hour.
Highs on Sunday will range from the middle 60s to the lower 70s, with the warmest temperatures in the eastern half of the viewing area.
We will aim for the upper 60s ahead of the cold front in Cape as strong southerly winds usher in warmer air. Showers and thunderstorms are likely by Sunday evening.
The passing cold front will knock down highs in the lower 30s to start the work week. Temperatures do look to make a return to the 60s and 70s by Wednesday, just in time for the start of spring.
