Murray man arrested in Virginia on terroristic threatening charge, police say

MURRAY, Ky. (KBSI) — A Murray man has been arrested in Virginia after allegedly making threats against law enforcement and local businesses, according to the Murray Police Department.

Police said they were notified April 25 of threats posted on social media. An investigation determined an individual had made threats to kill officers and carry out attacks on businesses and employees.

Authorities obtained a warrant for Anthony Cain, 56, of Murray, charging him with second-degree terroristic threatening.

Cain was located in Montgomery County, Virginia, where he was taken into custody without incident with assistance from local law enforcement. He is being held pending extradition to Calloway County, Kentucky.

The Murray Police Department thanked the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for its assistance. Officials noted that anyone charged with a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
