MAYFIELD, Ky. (KBSI) — A Mayfield woman is facing multiple charges after police said she fled from officers and kicked a firefighter while being treated by emergency responders.
According to the Mayfield Police Department, officers responded Tuesday, June 23, to a home on South Fifth Street for a report of a woman causing a disturbance and damaging property. While officers were en route, the caller reported the woman had left the area and was walking toward Paris Road.
An officer located the woman, identified as 38-year-old Gina Stubblefield, walking south on Paris Road. Police said Stubblefield ran when she saw the officer but was caught after a brief foot pursuit. She was taken into custody following a short struggle.
Officers said Stubblefield appeared to be under the influence of an illegal drug. Mayfield Fire & EMS responded to evaluate her and provide medical care. While she was being placed on a stretcher, police said Stubblefield became combative and kicked a firefighter in the face. The firefighter suffered a minor injury.
Stubblefield was transported to Jackson Purchase Medical Center for medical clearance before being taken to the Graves County Restricted Custody Center.
She is charged with public intoxication (controlled substance), third-degree fleeing or evading police on foot, third-degree assault of EMS, fire or rescue personnel, and second-degree disorderly conduct.
