FREDERICKTOWN, Mo. (KBSI) — The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children has released a new age-progression image of Gina Brooks, a Missouri girl who disappeared 37 years ago.
Brooks was 13 years old when she was last seen riding her bicycle on the evening of Aug. 5, 1989, in Fredericktown, Missouri.
The newly released image, created by forensic artists at NCMEC, shows what Brooks may look like today at age 50.
NCMEC continues to work alongside the FBI, which remains actively involved in investigating new leads in the decades-old disappearance.
Officials hope the updated image will generate renewed public interest and potentially lead to information about what happened to Brooks.
Authorities are urging the public to examine the new image closely and report any information that could help investigators.
Anyone with information about Brooks or her disappearance is asked to contact the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at 1-800-THE-LOST (1-800-843-5678) or the FBI’s Missouri office at 314-589-2500.
Even after 37 years, investigators continue their efforts to find answers in Brooks’ disappearance.
